Buckeye Acres was started in 1982 by Jim and Jeanne Counts to provide fresh produce like they had when they were growing up in northern Ohio. As native Ohioians they felt the farm need a little Ohio spirit leading to the farm name. The farm started off with a u-pick strawberry patch and a few vegetables so mom could stay home with us boys. As Buck & Will got older, the farm branched out into raspberries, blackberries and increased the number of vegetable crops. In 1987 the farm started a harvest festival in October featuring a pumpkin patch, a wide selection of fall decorations and fun activites for the family which ran until 2003 when the boys went off to explore the world and earn a couple of advanced degrees along the way. Even though the Harvest festival was put on hold Jim & Jeanne continued providing high quality fruits and vegetables to the local community either at the local farmers market or directly off the farm.
In the fall of 2009 the farm transitioned over to Buck & Heather to take it into the next phase of growth. We, along with our three young daughters, now offer a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program, as well as sell produce on farm and at the Warrensburg Farmer's Market. We also offer u-pick strawberries & blackberries. The pumpkin patch reopened in the fall of 2010, renewing the tradition of our annual Harvest Festival each October. We continue to work to grow the farm and offer our customers a wonderful experience and great high-quality local produce.
See ya at the farm.

Buck and Heather are providing a much needed source for locally grown produce and locally produced meats, eggs, and more. I know they are making thoughtful decisions in choosing what to raise and how to raise it. I feel good about the healthiness of the produce, eggs, and meat I purchase from them and being members of the CSA has taught my husband and I to experiment with, and enjoy, many vegetables that I had not cooked with before. Buckeye Acres is an anchor for the Warrensburg Farmer's Market, allowing many more residents to choose to buy local. Visiting Buckeye Acres is also a much-loved tradition for multiple generations of locals who visit the farm to choose a pumpkin or pick berries. It is not unusual for our grown children to recreate memories of visiting Buckeye Acres when Buck's parents ran it by trying to visit the farm together each fall. They are bringing another generation out to experience a visit to the pumpkin patch…and all the joy that goes with that!
